UMC Innovation Fence Lokk

When UMC Innovation came to us and asked us to create 3D renders of their Fence Lokk Machine we gladly accepted.

Working with the extremely talented design engineer Owen Meijer we were lucky to get exceptional CAD files right down to the last detail to work from.

Once these files were prepped and loaded into 3D Studio Max we were able to texture, light and setup different scenes, different camera angles and provide polished 3D renders of the machine from differing angles.

These images were then able to be utilised in printed material and also online on the UMC Innovation website – https://umcinnovation.com

What makes 3D renders so versatile? The beauty of being able to create your own clean environment is one of the biggest advantages. These machines are huge and often are built in crowded factories with clutter from other projects in the background. Being able to remove all of this easily and provide a clean polished high quality image of the product is one of the biggest advantages of a 3D render.

What is the UMC Innovation Fence Lock machine?

The UMC innovation Fence Lokk Machine (often called the FLM or Fence Lokk FLM-10) is a specialised industrial wire fence-making machine built by UMC Innovation / UMC Technology, a New Zealand-based engineering company with a long history in wire fence machine manufacturing. It’s a high-speed automated machine designed to produce fabricated wire fencing rolls – the kind used for agricultural, livestock, security, and exclusion fence applications. Rather than making simple mesh like a chain-link machine, the Fence Lokk Machine ties wire knots and weaves line and stay wires into a finished fence product. The only machine in the world capable of producing two different types of fence knots.

We didn’t stop there. We went on to create an animated video of the machine to be hosted on the website. Detailing all of the key elements of the machine.

What a joy it was to work with Mark Ullrich and the team at UMC Innovation on this project.
